The Opportunity
As EHS Manager, you’ll be a key member of the Site Operations Leadership Team, responsible for leading and developing the site’s health, safety and environmental strategy.
You’ll work closely with operational leaders to embed best practice, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with UK legislation and ISO standards helping create a safe, high-performing and engaged manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the site health, safety and environmental agenda
* Drive a positive and proactive safety culture across the factory
* Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and systems
* Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and ISO standards including ISO 45001
* Support and lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Conduct audits, inspections and safety tours across site
* Analyse HSE data and KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities
* Deliver training, coaching and guidance to leaders and operational teams
* Manage site HSE committees, first aid teams and H&S representatives
* Partner with stakeholders to implement sustainable improvements in safety and operational performance
About You
We’re looking for an experienced EHS professional who thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment and can influence at all levels of the business.
You will ideally have:
* Previous experience in an EHS Management role within manufacturing
* Food manufacturing experience preferred
* NEBOSH General Certificate essential (Diploma / CMIOSH highly advantageous)
* Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and regulatory compliance
* Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and environmental management systems
* Strong understanding of risk assessments, PUWER and auditing
* A continuous improvement mindset with Lean / Six Sigma exposure desirable
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proven ability to drive behavioural and cultural change
