How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are pleased to be working with a well-established electrical engineering and switchgear manufacturer based in Dartford, Kent that is continuing to grow and is now looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Engineer on a permanent basis.

    This opportunity would suit a technically strong Electrical Project Engineer with previous experience working within LV switchgear, control panel manufacture, or bespoke electrical engineering environments. Exposure to HV installations and switchgear projects would also be advantageous.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initial sales handover through to completion, ensuring all technical specifications, project timelines, and customer requirements are delivered to a high standard. You will be confident working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal production teams whilst overseeing the design, build, installation, and commissioning stages of projects.

    You will be comfortable interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, selecting suitable electrical components, and supporting factory production scheduling alongside wider engineering and manufacturing teams. Previous experience with FAT and SAT testing, site meetings, and producing method statements and risk assessments would be highly beneficial.

    The role would suit an organised and proactive engineering professional with strong communication skills and a practical understanding of electrical systems, switchgear manufacture, and project delivery within an industrial environment.

    The package includes:

    * Permanent Monday to Friday working hours

    * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

    * Company pension scheme

    * Free on-site parking

    * Ongoing training and development opportunities

    * Supportive and well-established engineering team

    * Long-term career development opportunities

    This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer looking to join a growing and forward-thinking engineering business working on bespoke LV and HV electrical projects within a professional and technically driven environment.
