How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with Walker Filtration on the appointment of a Technical Support Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in Washington.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in supporting Walker Filtration’s Industrial Filtration and Medical product ranges, delivering frontline technical support, driving continuous product improvement, and supporting product development activities across the business.

    The successful candidate will work closely with internal design teams, customers, and service engineers to improve product reliability, enhance serviceability, and ensure an exceptional customer support experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide frontline technical support to customers and service engineers

    * Review and approve warranty claims through the Atlas Copco WANT system

    * Investigate product failures and support root cause analysis activities

    * Support cross-functional quality meetings including TCM and PQM

    * Produce technical bulletins, troubleshooting guides, manuals, and training documentation

    * Deliver technical training for new product introductions

    * Support the 8D corrective action process

    * Work closely with design teams to identify trends and prevent repeat failures

    * Lead spare parts release activities and maintain aftermarket documentation

    * Continuously improve support processes and technical documentation

    About You

    * Engineering Degree preferred

    * Minimum 3 years’ experience within a technical manufacturing or service engineering role

    * Full UK Driving Licence essential

    * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

    * Excellent communication and report writing skills

    * Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail

    * Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
