How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Stride Recruitment are actively recruiting an ongoing or temp to perm HGV 2 Collections Driver to work out of our clients Environmental depot based in Suffolk, IP14 5AT with rates starting at £16.59 and £24.89 overtime over 37.5 hours with Inductions being held immediately.

    Core details:

    - 6am to 3.30pm daily, immediate induction availability and start dates.

    - Monday – Friday, overtime rate of 1.5x rate over 37.5 hours or 7.5 hours across a 5 day week. Sunday and Bank Holidays paid at double time.

    - Ongoing contract, weekly paye pay with opportunities for permanent employment after 6-months.

    Core duties:

    * Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job

    * Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal

    * Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed

    * Complete relevant paperwork in real time

    * Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use

    * Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.

    * Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users

    What you will need:

    * Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)

    * Driver CPC

    * Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement

    * Good communication and interpersonal skills

    * Self-motivated

    * Willingness to undertake tasks

    * Clean drivers licence desirable for all staff
