A leading contractor is looking for a Multiskilled Operative (Mechanical / Electrical / Handyman / Carpentry) to join a hospital maintenance team
Start date 16/03/2026 This is an ongoing maintenance position on a secure healthcare site.
Shift Pattern (Continental Shift):
12-hour shifts - 6am-6pm (days) / 6pm-6am (nights)
14 shifts per month
Rate: £30 per hour (flat rate for days and nights)
What you'll do:
Fault diagnosis across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Service, maintenance, and repair of mechanical plant and water systems
Basic electrical maintenance and small works
General building maintenance, handyman duties, and basic carpentry
Water sampling, incubation, flushing, and cooling tower checks
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
Working in live environments including hospital wards and critical areas
Ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with hospital regulationsRequirements:
Proven experience as a Multiskilled Operative within commercial or healthcare environments
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
Basic DBS check (essential)
Own tools and full PPE
Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred
Experience working in hospitals or critical environments highly desirableJoin a secure hospital site and work alongside experienced engineers supporting critical services.
