How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Associate Airworthiness Design Assurance Engineer
    Wimborne, Dorset
    Aerospace | Defence | Advanced Engineering
    Start your aerospace engineering career working on systems that support real-world military aircraft programmes. We’re supporting a global aerospace and defence organisation looking to hire Associate Airworthiness Design Assurance Engineers to join their growing engineering team in Wimborne. This is an opportunity to work on advanced aerospace technologies, including:
    * Air-to-Air Refuelling Systems
    * Aircraft Launch & Actuation Systems
    * Mission-Critical Defence Equipment
    You’ll join a collaborative engineering environment where you’ll work alongside experienced Airworthiness and Systems Safety Engineers supporting the certification, compliance, and approval of advanced aerospace systems used across global defence programmes. Unlike many early-career engineering roles, this position offers genuine exposure to real engineering projects from an early stage, with structured mentoring and clear long-term progression pathways built into the role. What You’ll Be Doing
    * Supporting aerospace certification and airworthiness activities
    * Assisting with technical documentation and compliance reviews
    * Working alongside Design, Systems Safety, and Engineering teams
    * Supporting engineering audits and regulatory activities
    * Learning how aerospace systems are certified and approved
    * Developing technical knowledge within highly regulated aerospace environments
    What They’re Looking For
    * Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
    * Around 2–3 years of industry exposure through:
    * Graduate programmes
    * Sandwich placements
    * Internships
    * Early-career engineering roles
    * Passion for aerospace, defence, and advanced technology
    * Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
    Any exposure to EASA, FAA, UK CAA, UK MAA, Part 21, or Part 145 environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.
    Why This Opportunity Stands Out
    * Work on genuinely advanced aerospace & defence systems
    * Structured mentoring from experienced aerospace specialists
    * Clear development pathways and long-term progression
    * Flexible working arrangements
    * Modern collaborative engineering environment
    * Strong investment in training and professional development
    * Opportunity to build a long-term career within a global aerospace organisation
    This role would particularly suit someone looking to move beyond a traditional graduate position and develop within a highly technical, safety-critical engineering environment.
    Please note: Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance and may be subject to additional ITAR-related screening
