How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

TeacherActive, one of the UK’s largest and most established education recruitment agencies, is proud to be working in close partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant / LSA who is passionate about supporting high-quality learning and making a meaningful impact on pupils’ development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a primary school that is truly at the heart of its community. The school is known for its inclusive and welcoming ethos, high expectations for pupils’ achievement, and commitment to ensuring children feel happy, safe and supported in their learning. Its ambitious curriculum supports all pupils, including those with SEND, and the school places a strong focus on meaningful learning experiences, pupil confidence and positive relationships.

We recognise that every support staff member’s career journey is different. Whether you are looking for day-to-day supply for flexibility, a long-term role for consistency, or an opportunity to secure a permanent position, our experienced consultants work closely with a diverse range of schools to match you with roles that align with your skills, experience and ambitions.

The ideal Learning Support Assistant / LSA will be able to:

    • Support the delivery of engaging and well-structured lessons alongside the class teacher
    • Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups
    • Support children with Special Educational Needs / SEN within a mainstream classroom
    • Adapt support strategies to meet the needs, abilities and learning styles of pupils
    • Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations for learning and progress
    • Help pupils to build confidence, independence and resilience
    • Build positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents
    • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
    • Contribute positively to a values-led school community

In return for the above, you can expect to receive:

    • A dedicated team of consultants available 24/7 to help you with the easy onboarding process
    • CPD courses and certificates as part of the My-Progression channel
    • Market-leading rates of pay
    • Opportunities for day-to-day, long-term and permanent roles
    • The opportunity to work with an inclusive, community-focused Newham primary school
    • Ongoing support from an experienced education consultant
    • TeacherActive Referral Scheme – receive up to £100 when you refer a friend

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you’re paying the right level of TAX and National Insurance and there’s no messing around with admin charges coming out of your hard-earned cash.
