How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Bennett & Game are currently working with a leading civil and marine engineering contractor who are seeking a Marine Project Engineer to join their Reactive Works team based in Dawlish. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Civil Engineering professional looking to develop their career within marine and reactive infrastructure projects.

    The successful candidate will provide engineering, technical and project coordination support across a varied portfolio of reactive civil and marine works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme and budget requirements.

    Marine Project Engineer - Position Overview

    * Support the delivery and management of reactive civil and marine engineering projects
    * Coordinate project information between office and site teams
    * Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
    * Review drawings, specifications and technical information
    * Assist in resolving technical and design issues during project delivery
    * Produce sketches, drawings and engineering calculations where required
    * Support planning, sequencing and procurement activities
    * Attend site to carry out surveys, inspections and progress reviews
    * Assist with setting out, quality checks and verification of completed works
    * Support preparation of project documentation, RAMS and progress reports
    * Monitor project costs, resource usage and project risks
    * Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety compliance

    Marine Project Engineer - Position Requirements

    * Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
    * Previous experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or marine construction
    * Strong communication and coordination skills
    * Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
    * Proactive and team-focused approach
    * Full UK Driving Licence

    Desirable

    * Experience working on marine or coastal engineering projects
    * Knowledge of reactive or maintenance-based project delivery
    * Working towards ICE Chartership or equivalent professional accreditation
