How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teacher - SEMH

    Academics are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Canterbury, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives in a nurturing, relationship-focused environment and is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.

    The school provides a highly supportive and therapeutic setting for pupils who may have experienced trauma, anxiety, behavioural challenges, or difficulties accessing mainstream education. Small class sizes and strong support staff ratios allow teachers to build meaningful relationships and deliver truly personalised learning.

    The Role: SEN Teacher

    Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
    Support pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning difficulties
    Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
    Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams
    Encourage emotional regulation, confidence, and academic progress

    The Ideal Candidate:

    Holds QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
    Experience working within SEN, SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings is desirable
    Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
    Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
    Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
