How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Construction Manager (Electrical & Mechanical) - Onshore Substation Project | Suffolk

    Location: Suffolk
    Rate: £400/day (CIS or Ltd Company)
    Contract Duration: Minimum 2 Years
    Start Date: Site mobilisation from August (interviews starting imminently)

    We are currently recruiting for three experienced Construction Managers to support a large-scale onshore substation build in Suffolk. This is a long-term project offering excellent continuity, working with a reputable client in the power & infrastructure sector.

    Positions Available

    2 x Electrical Construction Managers
    1 x Mechanical Construction Manager

    The Opportunity

    This is a key role on a major substation programme where you will be responsible for overseeing site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required standards. Although the project is not due on site until August, the client is keen to interview over the coming weeks to secure the right team ahead of mobilisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage day-to-day construction activities on site
    Ensure all works are delivered in line with HSEQ standards and project requirements
    Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
    Monitor progress against programme and report on milestones
    Ensure compliance with industry standards, particularly within regulated environments
    Support commissioning and handover phases where required

    Requirements

    Proven experience as a Construction Manager on substation, power, or infrastructure projects
    Strong bias in either Electrical or Mechanical discipline
    Experience working to strict standards, ideally within:
    National Grid
    DNOs (UKPN, SSEN, SPEN, WPD, etc.)
    Rail infrastructure environments
    Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills

    3 Day First Aid at Work
