How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Location: Ampthill, Bedfordshire

    Role Overview – Manufacturing Engineer

    Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for designing, developing, and optimising manufacturing processes? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading engineering organisation as they enhance their production capability and industrialise new products.

    As a Manufacturing Engineer focused on process development, you will be responsible for creating robust, efficient and scalable build processes that support product introduction, growth and full‑rate production. You’ll drive manufacturing excellence through process engineering, lean techniques, tooling development and capability improvement. This is an on‑site role based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, working within a modern advanced manufacturing facility operating a 4‑day working week (Mon–Thu).

    Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineer

    Developing end‑to‑end manufacturing processes for new and existing products
    Creating process flows, build instructions, standard operating procedures and routings
    Leading process optimisation activity focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements
    Supporting Design for Manufacture (DFM) during early design phases
    Identifying and specifying tooling, fixtures and equipment necessary for stable production
    Leading PFMEA creation, maintaining Control Plans and ensuring robust process validation
    Conducting root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
    Introducing new manufacturing technologies, equipment and automation
    Running process trials, capability studies and data‑driven process validation
    Analysing manufacturing KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives
    Working closely with engineering, operations and quality teams to deliver repeatable and scalable processes
    Key Experience & Qualifications – Manufacturing Engineer

    Experience in manufacturing or production engineering within a regulated engineering environment
    Strong background in process development, industrialisation and continuous improvement
    Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (5S, VSM, SMED, Kaizen)
    Ability to interpret engineering drawings, models and technical specifications
    Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans and structured process development tools
    Understanding of MRP/ERP systems for BOM and routing control
    Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability with a process‑driven mindset
    Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
    Engineering/technical qualification or equivalent industry experience
