How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: CNC Machinist - Miller – Night Shift
    Location: Ashton-under-Lyne
    Salary: £19.95 - £23.94ph (including shift allowance)

This is a great opportunity for a CNC Machinist - Miller – Night Shift to join a skilled and supportive team.

    Working Hours:

    Night Shift – Full-time
    Shifts: Monday – Thursday: 18:00 – 06:00 (4 x 12-hour shifts) - constant nights, 4 day week.
    Overtime available as required

    Job Description:

    We are recruiting for a CNC Miller Setter/Operator/Programmer – Night Shift to join a busy and well-established engineering team. The CNC Miller Setter/Operator/Programmer – Night Shift will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC milling machines using Fanuc control systems.

    Working from detailed customer drawings and specifications, you will produce high-quality medium to heavy components to tight tolerances. The CNC Miller Setter/Operator/Programmer – Night Shift will also utilise CAD/CAM software such as Cimco or Fusion for programming tasks.

    This role requires a high level of independence, and the CNC Miller Setter/Operator/Programmer – Night Shift will be expected to carry out self-inspection to ensure all work meets strict quality standards.

    Skills & Experience:

    * Experience working as a CNC Miller Setter/Operator/Programmer – Night Shift

    * Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems

    * Experience using CAD/CAM software such as Cimco or Fusion

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    * Experience machining medium to heavy components

    * Ability to self-inspect work and maintain high quality standards

    * Willingness to work overtime when required
