How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: CNC Turner/Vertical Borer
    Location: Ashton-under-Lyne
    Salary: £17ph-£18ph

    The Company:

This is a great opportunity for a CNC Turner/Vertical Borer to join a skilled and supportive team.

    Day shift:

    Monday – Thursday: 08.00 – 16.30

    Friday: 08.00 – 13.00

    Totaling 37 paid hours.

    30 minute unpaid lunch break Monday – Thursday, no lunch break on Friday.

    Day shift are expected to achieve a minimum of 11 hours overtime per week.

    Overtime is paid at T+1/3. - Sunday’s T+1/2.

    Job Description:

    We are recruiting for a CNC Turner/Vertical Borer to join a busy and well-established engineering team. The CNC Turner/Vertical Borer will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC vertical boring/lathe machines using Fanuc control systems.

    Working from detailed customer drawings and specifications, you will produce high-quality medium to heavy workpieces to tight tolerances. The CNC Turner/Vertical Borer will also utilise CAD/CAM software such as Cimco or Fusion for programming tasks.

    This role requires a high level of independence, and the CNC Turner/Vertical Borer will be expected to carry out self-inspection to ensure all work meets strict quality standards.

    Skills & Experience:

    * Experience working as a CNC Turner/Vertical Borer

    * Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems

    * Experience with CNC vertical boring/lathe machines

    * Experience using CAD/CAM software such as Cimco or Fusion

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

    * Experience producing medium to heavy workpieces

    * Ability to self-inspect work and maintain high quality standards

    * Willingness to work overtime when required
