How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

    Our client, a leading organisation within the UK nuclear sector, is seeking an experienced EICA (Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) Responsible Engineer to support delivery of a major infrastructure programme at a key nuclear decommissioning site.

    This role sits within a long-term, multi-billion-pound infrastructure partnership, delivering critical upgrades and enhancements to site-wide utilities.

    Project Overview

    The programme focuses on refurbishment, replacement, and new installation of essential utilities infrastructure, including:

    * Steam (LP & HP)

    * Water systems (raw, domestic, demineralised, treatment)

    * Compressed air

    * Bulk chemical storage and distribution

    * Sewage treatment facilities

    Works span full lifecycle delivery - from design through to commissioning - across both on-site and off-site infrastructure.

    The Role

    As an EICA Responsible Engineer, you will lead and manage all EICA design and engineering activities, ensuring compliance with nuclear licensed site requirements.

    You will oversee internal design teams, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring all deliverables are technically robust, compliant, and delivered on time and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead EICA engineering design delivery across the programme

    * Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams (internal and external)

    * Ensure all designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards

    * Review and approve EICA engineering documentation and deliverables

    * Ensure adherence to governance, digital systems, and design assurance processes

    * Provide technical leadership across all project phases: design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover

    * Support delivery of both asset care and new infrastructure projects

    Requirements

    * Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Automation, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)

    * Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards accreditation

    * 15+ years’ experience in the nuclear industry (essential)

    * Strong expertise across EICA design and engineering

    * Experience delivering utility infrastructure projects

    * Proven ability to manage and review complex engineering deliverables

    * In-depth knowledge of UK legislation, standards, and compliance requirements

    * Strong understanding of HSE and risk management processes

    * Experience working within large-scale, regulated infrastructure programmes

    Desirable Experience

    * Experience with EDMS and digital engineering workflows

    * Broader engineering leadership across quality, assurance, or information management

    * Experience across multiple infrastructure sectors

    * Involvement in procurement strategy and delivery

    Security Requirements

    * Minimum BPSS clearance required

    * Must be eligible to obtain SC clearance

    Personal Attributes

    * Strong leadership and coordination skills

    * Effective communicator with stakeholders at all levels

    * Delivery-focused with a strong safety mindset, proactive, adaptable, and solutions-driven
