Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children’s residential setting
Proven track record of managing an Ofsted-rated Good or Outstanding children’s home
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England)
Strong leadership and staff management skills
Excellent understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation
Resilient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people
Positive, proactive, and team-focused approach
Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 12 months
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the residential children’s home
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and Children’s Homes Quality Standards
Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to the staff team
Promote positive outcomes for young people through high-quality, child-centred care
Create a safe, secure, and supportive environment for both staff and young people
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, behaviour management, and placement matching
Support with referrals and admissions processes
Build effective relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals
Drive continuous improvement and maintain Good or Outstanding Ofsted standards
Inspire and motivate the team to achieve the highest standards of care
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive, while ensuring the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations and delivers outstanding outcomes.
