A leading M&E contractor based in Chelmsford is looking to recruit a motivated and ambitious Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the building services industry, working alongside experienced estimators on a wide range of high-profile commercial projects valued up to £3 million. Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors, including:

•Corporate office spaces.
•Arts & leisure facilities.
•Education.
•Healthcare.
•MOD projects.

As a Junior Mechanical Estimator, you will support the estimating team with the preparation of competitive tenders for mechanical building services projects.

Key responsibilities will include:
•Assisting with the preparation of detailed mechanical estimates and cost plans.
•Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
•Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
•Supporting the production of tender submissions and take-offs.
•Liaising with internal departments, clients and suppliers.
•Assisting with project handovers to delivery teams.
•Developing knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.

Requirements
•Some previous exposure to estimating, mechanical building services or construction (placement experience considered).
•Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or Construction preferred.
•Strong numerical and organisational skills.
•Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office.
•Full UK driving licence desirable.
