How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Shift Pattern: Alternating between 06:00-14:15 and 22:00-06:15 

    About the Opportunity

    We are looking for a talented Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias to join a growing, forward-thinking manufacturing business. This is an exciting opportunity for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias to work with cutting-edge machinery in a modern production environment and play a key role in maintaining high operational standards.

    As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias, you will initially be based at the Leigh site for training before transitioning to a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Warrington.

    The Role

    This hands-on position is ideal for a proactive and experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving automated production equipment while ensuring minimal downtime.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Maintain and troubleshoot automated processing machinery
    Carry out electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs
    Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns
    Support planned maintenance and continuous improvement activities
    Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
    Work closely with Production and Quality teams to optimise performance
    Use CMMS systems to track and manage maintenance tasks

    About You

    To succeed as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias, you will bring strong technical expertise combined with a flexible, problem-solving mindset.

    Essential Requirements:

    Completed recognised apprenticeship with ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    Proven experience in industrial maintenance
    Strong electrical fault-finding skills with mechanical competence
    Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment
    Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
    Good IT skills, including CMMS and Microsoft Office

    Desirable:

    Level 3 Mechanical qualification
    Stable work history demonstrating long-term commitment
