How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Technical Manager – SME Food Manufacturer (Exciting growth plans, Big Opportunity)

A concise takeaway: this role is a career‑defining first Technical Manager step for a senior quality professional ready to take full site ownership, shape technical strategy, and help lead a newly acquired food business into its next chapter of growth.

    The Opportunity

This SME food manufacturer has exciting times ahead. Investment is flowing, leadership is aligned, and the future is genuinely positive. What they need now is a Technical Manager who wants to make a real impact, not just maintain the status quo.

If you’re currently a Senior Quality Manager in a larger organisation and itching for your first full technical leadership role, this is the moment. You’ll have autonomy, influence, and the chance to build something better than what came before.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Full ownership of the technical remit and site technical strategy, shaping the future of the function.

    * Lead all BRCGS, customer, and regulatory audits, consistently delivering strong outcomes.

    * Drive food safety, quality, and compliance standards across the factory.

    * Provide technical leadership for new product launches, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery.

    * Own and manage the site’s HACCP systems and Quality Management System (QMS).

    * Oversee supplier approval, specifications, and artwork sign‑off.

    * Lead internal audits and champion continuous improvement across the site.

    * Manage technical budgets, including laboratory, microbiology, and pest control services.

    * Build strong customer relationships and act as the site’s primary technical contact.

    * Play a key role in shaping business strategy as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

    About You

You’re a proven technical leader with deep food manufacturing experience and a track record of delivering audit excellence. You know how to inspire teams, raise standards, and build trust with customers.

You’ll thrive here if you are:

    * Commercially aware and customer‑focused.

    * Passionate about food safety and quality.

    * Ready to step up, take ownership, and influence site‑wide decisions.

    * Motivated by the chance to transform a site, not just maintain one.

This is a standout opportunity for someone who wants to move from a large‑company technical or quality role into a position where they can finally own the function, shape the culture, and see the impact of their work every day.

    Why This Role Matters

This isn’t a “keep the wheels turning” technical job. It’s a build, improve, and elevate role. You’ll be joining at the perfect moment — early enough to influence the direction, but with the stability of new ownership behind you.
