Site Engineer - Earthworks and Drainage

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a strong background in earthworks to join a major infrastructure package on the HS2 project in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest and most high-profile civil engineering projects.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of bulk earthworks and associated civils works, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Responsibilities

Setting out for earthworks and associated civil engineering works

Managing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

Carrying out quality assurance checks and maintaining accurate site records

Producing as-built surveys and documentation

Supporting subcontractors and site teams to ensure programme targets are achieved

Ensuring works are delivered in line with health & safety standards and project requirements

Liaising with project managers, supervisors, and technical teams on site

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects

Strong earthworks experience is essential

Competent with setting out equipment including GPS and robotic total stations

Experience with QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records

CSCS card required

SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial

Previous experience on rail, highways, or large-scale infrastructure projects advantageous
