The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payment Operations Senior Associate to join a growing Operations team within a fast-paced banking environment. This role will focus on the timely and accurate processing of domestic and international payment requests, supporting wholesale banking operations and ensuring high standards of operational efficiency, compliance, and client service.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor the daily flow of payment remittance requests raised by internal stakeholders
Process domestic and international cross-border payment transactions accurately and within currency cut-off times
Manage funding and currency positioning activities for Treasury reporting through the Request Management System (RMS)
Upload FX deal tickets for currency buy/sell transactions
Monitor incoming client monies and apply credits within the core banking system
Process returns of funds to remitting banks using SWIFT messaging formats including MT199 and MT299
Process Mastercard payments on a daily basis
Raise and manage payment-related queries through CRM systems and follow up accordingly
Ensure full adherence to AML, KYC, and internal compliance procedures
Support the wider Operations team with additional tasks as required
Skills & Experience
Previous experience within payments operations, banking operations, or financial services is desirable
Understanding of inward and outward payment processing is advantageous
Knowledge of SWIFT payment message types would be beneficial
Exposure to FX transactions or treasury-related activities is desirable
Familiarity with core banking systems such as Finacle is advantageous but not essential
Awareness of AML, KYC, sanctions, and payment regulations is beneficial
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex transactions accurately
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Team player with a proactive and reliable approach
