How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

MECHANICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER / HEAD OF PROJECTS
Bristol Based | Projects Across the South West & UK
Up to £130,000 + Company Vehicle + Package

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Operations Manager / Head of Projects to join a growing and highly respected mechanical engineering business based in Bristol.

This is a key leadership role for someone who wants real autonomy, the opportunity to shape and grow a projects division, and be part of a company that is genuinely building momentum within the building services and mechanical engineering sector.

The company delivers mechanical pipework, offsite manufacturing and prefabricated solutions across a range of commercial, industrial and building services projects throughout the UK. Their capabilities include mechanical pipework installations, specialist welding, modular assembly and offsite fabrication, supporting projects across London, the South West and the Midlands.

With continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are now looking for a commercially aware and operationally strong leader to head up the projects division.

    The Role:

You will take ownership of the delivery function across multiple mechanical projects, overseeing everything from pre-construction through to completion. This role will suit someone who is equally comfortable managing clients, leading teams, driving programme delivery and improving operational performance.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Leading and developing the projects division
    • Overseeing multiple mechanical/building services projects
    • Managing Project Managers, Site Managers and delivery teams
    • Client management and maintaining key relationships
    • Commercial oversight alongside the commercial team
    • Programme management and operational planning
    • Supporting business growth and strategic direction
    • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
    • Site visits across live projects as required

    What They’re Looking For:

    • Strong background within mechanical building services or pipework projects
    • Proven experience running large-scale M&E/mechanical projects
    • Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, Head of Projects or senior leadership role
    • Strong commercial and operational awareness
    • Excellent client-facing and leadership skills
    • Ability to help scale and grow a projects division
    • Ambitious, driven and hands-on approach

    What’s On Offer:

    • Up to £130,000 salary depending on experience
    • Company vehicle
    • Genuine opportunity to shape and lead a growing division
    • Long-term progression potential
    • Strong pipeline of exciting projects
    • Supportive and forward-thinking business

This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to step into a senior leadership role within an ambitious and growing engineering business
