How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    C# Simulation Engineer

    You will take ownership of developing complex software components that simulate sophisticated weapon systems and bring synthetic environments to life. This role allows you to influence the full lifecycle of advanced technology while expanding your technical capability within a specialist simulation and experimentation team. You will see your real-time software integrate directly with hardware to create true representations of world-class systems.

    Essential requirements
    Sole British nationality is required due to workload classification
    Strong software engineering background with practical C# development experience
    Experience with real-time simulations using C++ or C#Key responsibilities
    Develop real-time software components using agile scrum methodologies to simulate complex defence systems
    Integrate real hardware components with models and synthetic environments to achieve precise system representations
    Provide critical visualisation, demonstration, verification, and validation support across the full product lifecycle
    Collaborate with a specialist engineering team to advance the use of distributed simulation in sophisticated system designSkills and background
    Proficiency in C# software engineering within a technical environment
    Knowledge of real-time software development and agile principles
    Experience with configuration control and unit testing or test-driven development
