How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Specialist Teacher- Access to Learning
    September 2026

    Due to continued growth and development of the Trust, South Lincolnshire Academies Trust is introducing an exciting new role within each of our four schools — Bourne Academy, Spalding Academy, Cowley Academy and Giles Academy.

    We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Teacher for Access to Learning.

    The successful candidate will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to successfully access the mainstream curriculum by providing targeted teaching, intervention, and in-class support. The post-holder will work collaboratively with subject teachers, SEN Manager, the SENCo and pastoral teams to remove barriers to learning and improve outcomes for students with SEN.

    The successful candidate will have:

    Essential:

    * Strong understanding of SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SpLD);

    * Proven ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs;

    * Experience of working with or supporting students with EHCPs;

    * Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills;

    * The ability to motivate students and achieve excellent results;

    * Excellent organisational and ICT skills;

    * The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team;

    Desirable:

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS);

    * Experience working with students with SEN in a secondary setting;

    * Experience working with students in a specialist setting or;

    * Experience teaching in KS1 and/or KS2 with a strong understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy development, and an ability to transfer this to support students accessing the secondary curriculum;

    * Experience delivering targeted interventions (e.g. literacy/numeracy catch-up);

    * Knowledge of current SEND Code of Practice.
