How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner - Programmer, Setter & Operator
    Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
    Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

    The Role
    We are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner who can programme, set and operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality precision components and tooling.
    You will be working on low to medium volume batches, ensuring components are manufactured to specification while maintaining the highest quality standards.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Programme, set and operate CNC turning machines.
    * Produce components to engineering drawings and specifications.
    * Perform first-off inspections and maintain quality throughout production.
    * Optimise machining processes to maximise efficiency.
    * Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
    * Work as part of a skilled engineering team.
    Essential Requirements
    * Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
    * Fanuc programming experience.
    * Experience with mainstream CNC lathes
    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    * Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    Preferred Experience
    * Experience operating Doosan CNC lathes with live tooling.
    * Previous experience machining:
    *
    * Precision components for a variety of engineering industries.
    Working Hours
    Day Shift Only
    * Monday to Thursday
    * 6:30am – 4:30pm
    * 38 hours per week
    * Permanent 4-day working week
    Salary
    * £18.00 – £22.50 per hour
    * Salary dependent on skills and experience.
