How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £30,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience)

Are you an Estimator with experience in steel, fabrication, or sheet metal? Looking for a role where you can take real ownership of projects from start to finish?

We're working with a well-established, family-owned UK manufacturer with years of experience delivering bespoke sheet metal solutions for various industries. Known for their quality, innovation, and fast-paced approach, they are now looking to bring a Project Surveyor & Estimator into their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, varied role combining site work, estimating, and project coordination. Whether you're already experienced or looking to build on your current knowledge, there's real scope for development in this position.

This position will be approximately 2 days per week onsite and the remaining time split between the office and home working.

    What You'll Be Doing

Visit UK sites, gather key info, interpret drawings/specs, and identify risks
Assess cost, quality and production feasibility
Produce accurate, competitive quotes with strong commercial awareness
Turn concepts into practical solutions and work from technical drawings
Keep projects on track, manage timelines, and resolve issues/RFIs
Build strong relationships and manage expectations with clients, architects, and site teams
Liaising with internal design and production teams

    What We're Looking For

(our client is open to candidates with different levels of experience, i.e., if you've got a little bit of quoting, costing, sheet metal experience and you want to get your teeth stuck into something commercial, they are considering candidates like you)

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and stakeholders
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
    Commercial awareness and problem-solving mindset
    Full UK driving licence
Comfortable travelling to sites across the UK
    Comfortable working at height

You'll be joining a modern, well-run facility with a company that invests heavily in its people. From team events and corporate days to staff awards and recognition, this is a business that values its workforce and is clearly going places.

Apply now to be considered for this Estimator vacancy or call us today to enquire about our jobs within the Sheet Metal Industry.
