How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: M&E Operative (Roto Operator) - National Grid Substation Project
    Location: Melksham, United Kingdom
    Start Date: 25/05/2026
    End Date: 20/11/2026
    Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 (50 hours per week)
    Rate: £320 per day
    IR35 Status: Inside IR35
    Limited Company Payment: Not compliant
    Contract Type: Temporary

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Operative / Roto Operator for a long-term contract on a National Grid substation project in Melksham.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified operative with previous substation experience and the correct National Grid authorisations already in place.

    Essential Requirements:

    Roto Operator Ticket (360 Degree Slew) - Essential
    National Grid Person - Essential
    Manual Handling Certificate - Essential
    Previous experience working on National Grid / live substation projects
    Strong understanding of site safety procedures and working in high-voltage environmentsRole Responsibilities:

    Operating a 360 Degree Slew Roto safely and efficiently on site
    Supporting ongoing M&E and infrastructure works within the substation environment
    Assisting with material movement, lifting operations, and plant support duties as required
    Working in line with RAMS, health & safety procedures, and site compliance standards
    Supporting site teams to ensure works are delivered safely and to programmePlease note: Only candidates with the exact required tickets and relevant substation experience will be considered.
