How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for you next role teaching Teachers of Design & Technology (Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles) in a school located in Southwark?

    Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with this Client, a highly respected and ambitious secondary foundation school based in Southwark, who are seeking enthusiastic and talented Teachers of Design & Technology specialising in Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles to join their successful department on a permanent basis from September. This is a full-time opportunity offering a salary on the London MPS/UPS scale, with interviews to be arranged immediately.

    The successful candidates will join a dynamic and forward-thinking Design & Technology department, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially Key Stage 5 within their specialist area.

    The role will include:
    Planning and delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons in Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles
    Creating engaging learning experiences that inspire creativity and innovation
    Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress effectively
    Contributing to curriculum planning and development within the department
    Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
    Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
    Participating fully in departmental and whole-school initiatives

    The ideal candidate will:
    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Have a relevant degree or qualification within Design & Technology or a related subject
    Demonstrate strong subject knowledge within Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles
    Have experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
    Be passionate about delivering outstanding teaching and learning
    Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
    Be committed to supporting student progress and achievement
    Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team
