How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Hours: Part Time – 25 hours per week

    Working Pattern: Days - Monday to Friday shifts (any hours between 8.30 and 4pm)

    Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 120 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.

    Woking Day Care in Surrey has a wide range of daily activities on offer to suit people’s interests and preferences. Our compassionate team are trained to support people with dementia and we provide a range of activities that encourage social interaction and wellbeing.

    Joining our committed team as a Day Care Assistant, you will provide a high standard of holistic care and support for our clients so they can maintain independence, autonomy, choice and lead fulfilled lives. You will…

    We would like our Day Care Assistant to be someone who has a real passion for care. Someone who sees this as an opportunity to build solid relationships with our clients and allow them to live well in later life. Empathetic and respectful, self-motivated and flexible, you will be a team player who is always willing to go the extra mile.

    We would welcome applications from those who are experienced in working with older people and hold a NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, however this is by no means essential! We will give you all the training you will need to excel in this role.
