How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Project Engineer

    Tier 1 MEP Contractor | Data Centre Projects
    📍 East London

    I’m currently representing a market-leading Tier 1 MEP Contractor with a strong presence across the UK and Europe, delivering complex projects across the Data Centre, Commercial, Infrastructure and Life Sciences sectors.

    Due to continued growth and a secured pipeline of mission critical projects, they are now looking to appoint a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the delivery team on a major Data Centre development in East London.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work on a technically challenging, fast-paced project with a highly experienced delivery team and genuine long-term progression opportunities within one of the industry’s most sought-after sectors.

    The Opportunity

    Working alongside Senior Project Managers and site teams, you’ll play a key role in the delivery and coordination of mechanical building services packages across a large-scale mission critical environment.

    This role will suit someone who enjoys technically demanding projects and wants exposure to complex mechanical systems within a live data centre construction environment.

    🔧 Key Responsibilities

    * Support the delivery and coordination of mechanical packages on site

    * Work closely with Project Managers and construction teams to maintain programme targets

    * Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist mechanical trades

    * Monitor installation progress and ensure works are delivered in line with programme

    * Carry out inspections, QA checks and technical reviews

    * Assist in resolving technical and installation challenges on site

    * Support commissioning activities and handover processes

    * Ensure compliance with health & safety and QA procedures

    * Contribute to project reporting, risk management and progress tracking

    * Ensure installations are delivered in line with design and client specifications

    ⚙️ Requirements

    * Experience working as a Mechanical Project Engineer or Mechanical Engineer within the building services / MEP sector

    * Previous experience delivering Data Centre, mission critical or large-scale commercial projects preferred

    * Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems

    * Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities

    * Good understanding of QA/QC procedures and health & safety compliance

    * Strong communication and problem-solving skills

    * CSCS card essential

    * SMSTS and First Aid beneficial
