How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives? Do you thrive on building strong relationships, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting communities within social housing?

We are seeking a proactive and empathetic Housing Officer to join a dedicated housing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, sound housing knowledge, and a genuine commitment to supporting residents and sustaining tenancies.

    The Role

As a Housing Officer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality housing management services to residents and leaseholders. You will be responsible for managing tenancies, building positive relationships with residents, and ensuring communities are safe, well-managed, and sustainable.

Working closely with repairs, tenancy enforcement, lettings, and housing management teams, you will help deliver an effective and customer-focused housing service.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage a caseload of tenants and leaseholders, providing advice and support on tenancy matters, rights, and responsibilities.

    * Conduct tenancy audits, estate inspections, and property visits to ensure compliance with tenancy agreements.

    * Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, neighbour disputes, and tenancy breaches in partnership with relevant agencies where required.

    * Support residents in sustaining tenancies and accessing appropriate support services.

    * Liaise with internal teams including repairs, compliance, and neighbourhood services to resolve housing-related issues efficiently.

    * Maintain accurate housing records and ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.

    * Assist with lettings, allocations, sign-ups, and void management processes where required.

    * Promote resident engagement and deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.

    Skills & Experience Required

    * Good understanding of housing legislation, tenancy management, and social housing practices.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and stakeholders.

    * Ability to manage difficult situations professionally and with empathy.

    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.

    * Experience within housing management, tenancy support, or social housing administration is desirable.

    * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
