How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

KS2/KS3 Teacher – Specialist ASD Provision

Are you a passionate, patient, and resilient teacher who thrives on making a difference?

Do you have a genuine interest in supporting neurodivergent learners to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally?

This is a forward-thinking, inclusive special school dedicated to meeting the needs of children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated social, emotional, and communication differences. We are seeking a dedicated and creative KS2/KS3 Teacher to join our skilled multidisciplinary team and help shape the learning journey of our pupils.

As a teacher in our ASD provision, you will:

Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging, and accessible lessons across the KS2 and/or KS3 curriculum, tailored to the individual learning profiles of students.

Foster a positive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment where every child feels safe, understood, and celebrated.

Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other professionals to provide a truly holistic educational experience.

Contribute to EHCP reviews, behaviour and communication plans, and termly progress reports.

Promote and embed communication-friendly strategies, sensory regulation, and emotional literacy into daily practice.

Build strong relationships with families, carers, and external professionals to support each child’s development and wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who is:

A qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS (NQTs/ECTs welcome to apply).

Experienced (or keen to gain experience) in working with pupils with ASD, SEMH, communication needs, or in a special school setting.

Ability to teach KS2 and access the KS3 curriculum for core subjects.

A reflective practitioner with the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles.

Calm, consistent, and nurturing – with excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Committed to ongoing CPD and professional growth, with a passion for inclusive education.

Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

This is a large special school for pupils from KS1 to Post 16, all of whom have a diagnosis of Autism and/or PMLD and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Small class sizes with high staff-to-student ratios.

A curriculum that blends academic learning with life skills, emotional regulation, and communication development.

Access to specialist rooms including sensory spaces, therapy suites, and calm zones.

A warm, supportive and inclusive community where staff wellbeing is prioritised.

Ongoing training and professional development, including opportunities to train in TEACCH, PECS, Zones of Regulation, and other autism-specific approaches.

    What We Offer:

Competitive salary (MPS + SEN Allowance)

Tailored CPD and training in specialist strategies and interventions

A highly supportive Senior Leadership Team and mentoring programme for new staff

Excellent staff wellbeing programme, including counselling, wellness days, and peer support

A chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and families
