How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals

    * Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

    * Adapt resources and activities to support different learning styles and abilities

    * Support students during break times, educational visits, and enrichment activities where required

    * Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

    * Promote independence, self-esteem, and confidence in all learners

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have

    * Experience working with children or young people with ASD, SEND, or additional learning needs (school-based or transferable experience)

    * A calm, patient, and compassionate nature

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    * An understanding of autism and strategies that support communication and behaviour

    * The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students

    * Good teamwork skills and a willingness to learn

    * Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive attitude

    * A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to succeed

    Desirable Experience

    Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:

    * SEND schools or mainstream school support

    * Youth work or mentoring

    * Mental health support

    * Psychology or education-based studies

    However, full training and ongoing support will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, passion, and commitment.
