How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    I am seeking a Product Support Engineer to join the Post Design Support Team, supporting both in-service and in-production defence equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of engineering projects, helping to maintain, improve and support products that play a critical role in defence capability.

    The Opportunity

    As a Product Support Engineer, you will work closely with engineering and project teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions across the full engineering lifecycle. You will provide technical support and design input on a range of electrical and electronic systems, ensuring products remain reliable, effective and fit for purpose throughout their operational life.

    This role offers excellent variety and the chance to develop your engineering expertise across multiple disciplines within a highly supportive team environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support a portfolio of complex, mission-critical systems throughout their service life
    Manage and implement engineering design changes across the product lifecycle
    Provide technical support across in-service and production engineering activities
    Review and support electrical designs, schematics and engineering documentation
    Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing and project teams
    Liaise directly with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues
    Participate in internal and external technical meetings and reviews
    Maintain accurate engineering documentation in line with company procedures
    Support continuous improvement initiatives across products and processesWhat We're Looking For

    Essential Skills & Experience

    Minimum HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
    Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams
    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    Flexible and adaptable approach to engineering problem-solving
    Methodical, accurate and detail-focused working style
    Experience reviewing electrical schematics and engineering drawings
    Ability to communicate confidently with customers, suppliers and colleagues at all levelsDesirable Skills & Experience

    Knowledge of electronics and electrical systems
    Experience supporting the design, assembly, testing or delivery of complex defence systems
    Electrical systems design experience
    Experience working within regulated or high-reliability engineering environments
