How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Research Technician - Life Sciences, Biotechnology

    The location of the role is Stevenage.
    The duration of the contract is 12 months.
    The pay rate on offer is £16 per hour (via PAYE - 37.5 hours per week).

    Role Summary

    The Research Technician - Method Development is responsible for delivering results in developing and evaluating next-gen chromatography media.

    This position reports to the Manager, Analytical Methods, and is part of the Fibro R&D department located in Stevenage and will be an on-site role.

    Key accountabilities of the role

    Support the design, execution, and documentation of method optimisation experiments for analytical methods related to membrane chromatography products.
    Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing, ensuring accurate and reliable data generation.
    Prepare clear, concise reports and maintain proper documentation of experimental results.
    Provide support to ensure laboratory compliance to Environment Health & Safety regulations
    Collaborate with scientists to support development activities in monoclonal antibody purification workflows.Key skills and experience

    You will have a Master's degree in a bioscience-based subject
    You will have at least 1 year of experience using AKTA systems
    You will have experience working in a regulated labDesirable experience

    Preparing presentations and written reports to support decision-making in multifaceted projects
    Working in cross-disciplinary teams
    Use of SEC-HPLC or ProA-HPLC
