How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    New Directions Education is currently recruiting for a pool of Level 3 Teaching Assistants to work within Leeds based, Special Educational Needs settings. We are looking for dedicated, passionate individuals to support students with a variety of needs.

    This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the educational experience of pupils with SEN.

    We want to hear from you if you have:

    * A good understanding of trauma-informed approaches and therapeutic behaviour support.

    * Training in Team-Teach or other recognised behaviour intervention methods.

    * A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Job Specification:

    Working as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in an SEN setting can be incredibly rewarding, but it also requires flexibility, patience, and a compassionate approach. Your role will involve working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to deliver high-quality, tailored education for pupils with varying needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of individualised learning activities for pupils with SEN, adapting materials and strategies as required.

    * Work alongside class teachers to deliver differentiated learning, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.

    * Deliver small group interventions under the direction of SENCOs and phase leaders.

    * Assist in the development and monitoring of EHCP outcomes, contributing to reviews and meetings.

    * Provide cover for whole classes in the short-term absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and supported.

    * Offer guidance and support to other teaching assistants, ensuring consistency across the setting.

    * Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reporting and assessment processes.
