How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Year 2 QTS Teacher / KS1 Phase Lead - includes TLR

    Location: Isle of Dogs, E14
    Start Date: September
    Salary: M6–UPS2 Inner London
    Contract: Full-time

    TeacherActive is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive 1-form entry primary school in the Isle of Dogs, E14, for an experienced Year 2 QTS Teacher / KS1 Phase Lead to join their team from September.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced teacher who is ready to take on a key leadership role within a small, close-knit school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Year 2 while also supporting and leading the wider KS1 phase.

    The school is looking for someone with strong classroom practice, proven senior leadership experience, and the ability to support pupils with a range of needs, particularly children with SEMH. The ideal candidate will be calm, resilient, nurturing, and confident in managing challenging behaviour while maintaining high expectations for learning and progress.     The role will involve:

    Leading teaching and learning across KS1, with a particular focus on Year 2

    Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum

    Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and using effective behaviour management strategies

    Working closely with SLT to drive standards across the phase

    Supporting and mentoring staff within KS1

    Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals

    Contributing to whole-school improvement and leadership priorities

    The successful candidate will need:

    Qualified Teacher Status — QTS is essential

    Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2

    Previous senior leadership or phase leadership experience

    Strong understanding of SEMH and experience supporting children with SEMH needs

    Excellent behaviour management skills

    A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach

    The ability to commute reliably to E14, Isle of Dogs

    A commitment to raising standards and supporting every child to succeed
