Cover Supervisor

New Directions Education is currently recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff looking to gain further classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring pupils stay on task while completing pre-set work. No lesson planning is required, making this role ideal for those seeking flexible work in education.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise classes in the absence of a teacher
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials
* Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
Requirements
* Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work or similar)
* Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* A confident and flexible approach
* Good organisational skills
* A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one through New Directions)
Desirable
* Degree or equivalent qualification
* Interest in pursuing a career in teaching
