How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities

Set up, configure, test and commission electro-mechanical equipment
Carry out electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic testing activities
Perform flash testing, IR testing, earth bonding and point-to-point checks
Use test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes and Datron equipment
Investigate and diagnose mechanical and electronic faults
Support installation, commissioning and maintenance activities on-site when required
Work closely with engineering teams to support new and existing product development
Ensure all test procedures, documentation and results are completed accurately
Provide feedback on design and maintenance improvements
    Support customer/system demonstrations where required

    What We’re Looking For

Previous experience within a test, commissioning or electro-mechanical engineering environment
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working with electrical and mechanical systems - qualifications are not required, just know-how!
Comfortable using a range of test equipment
Background within marine, defence, aerospace, manufacturing or other highly regulated engineering sectors would be advantageous
Ability to read and follow technical drawings and test procedures
    Strong communication and teamwork skills

    Additional Information

This is an ongoing contract opportunity, initially six months but with chn=ances of going on much longer, offering excellent exposure to highly technical engineering projects within a respected and growing sector.

If you’re an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to be involved with advanced marine and defence systems, we’d love to hear from you.
