How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Commercial Funding Manager

    Location: Peterborough (Office Based)
    Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per year
    Bonus: Performance-based (OTE £70,000 – £90,000+)

    Job Overview

    Trade Mastermind is recruiting a Commercial Funding Manager to take ownership of the post-sale funding process and drive fast, efficient cash conversion across the business.

    In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer contracts from the point of signature through to funding approval, drawdown, and cash receipt. You will work closely with lenders and brokers to ensure funds are secured quickly and efficiently, maintaining full control of each case from start to finish.

    This is a commercially focused, performance-driven position with clear accountability and measurable outcomes, where your impact will be directly linked to business cash flow and revenue performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    You will manage customer funding cases end-to-end, ensuring a smooth and efficient journey from signed agreement through to cash received. This will involve driving funding approvals, coordinating drawdowns, and ensuring settlements are completed as quickly as possible.

    You will be responsible for selecting the most suitable funding routes for each case, including business loans as the primary option, alongside providers such as iWalker, Premium Credit, and MRR where necessary.

    A key part of the role will involve liaising with approved third-party brokers and lenders, proactively chasing applications, removing blockers, and resolving delays to keep funding processes moving efficiently. You will also collect and validate all required documentation, including financial accounts, identification, and KYC information, ensuring all submissions meet lender criteria and compliance requirements.

    You will monitor performance metrics such as time-to-cash and cash collected per customer, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on high-cost or margin-impacting funding solutions. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to ongoing process improvements and help optimise the overall funding operation.

    Skills and Experience Required

    The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial finance, funding operations, or brokerage support, with a strong understanding of business lending products and lender requirements. You should be familiar with KYC, AML, and funding documentation processes, and comfortable working with both brokers and lenders.

    Strong organisational and case management skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently chase stakeholders when required. You should be comfortable working to targets and performance metrics in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

    Suitability

    This role is not suited to individuals who prefer low-responsibility or purely administrative positions, are uncomfortable chasing outcomes or working towards targets, or are looking for a role without clear accountability and performance expectations.

    Compliance Requirements

    This position does not involve providing financial advice or directly brokering finance. All funding arrangements are handled through authorised third-party brokers in line with regulatory requirements.
