How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Fitter
     
    An excellent opportunity is available for 60 skilled Welders, Pipefitters, and Mechanical Fitters to join a specialist consultancy at the Hinckley Point C nuclear power plant. 
    Our client provides pipework fabrication, installation, and mechanical engineering services for highly regulated industries across the UK. They are starting a significant project at Hinckley Point C and need additional resources to meet the increased demand. 
    Initially, you will work on another important project based on the west coast of Scotland for up to two months before transferring to Hinckley Point C. During this project, your tasks will involve installation and testing for a large processing factory. 
    If you are a skilled welder, pipefitter, or mechanical fitter but do not wish to work at Hinckley Point C, there are several other opportunities available for different projects in Scotland. 
    This is a significant opportunity for individuals who may not have worked on site before, as well as those who have experience but haven't had the chance to work at Hinckley Point C and within the nuclear sector.
     
    Mechanical Fitter
    Scotland 
    Hourly Rates: 
    Basic: £23.45 – £24.43  
    Overtime A: 32.83 - 34.20                 Overtime B: 42.21 - 43.97  
     
    Interview Process: 
    1) Initial call with Site Manager to discuss role/experience 
    2) Weld test post interview  
     
    Hinckley Point 
    Basic: £28.29 - £30.58 
    Overtime A: £39.61 - £42.82           Overtime B: £50.93 - £55.05 
    *Overtime A:  Monday – Thursday (After 8 hours of Basic Pay) / Friday (After 6 hours) 
    *Overtime B:  Saturday (After 4 hours of Basic Pay / All hours on Sundays) 

    Allowances: 
    Weekly Accommodation Allowance - £373.73 
    Travel Time Allowance (based on location) 
     
    Mechanical Fitter - Key Responsibilities:
    • Supporting pressure testing activities on process pipework systems
    • Preparation, assembly, and reinstatement of test lines and equipment
    • Installation and removal of blinds, valves, spades, and test equipment
    • Working from isometric drawings, GA drawings, and method statements
    • Supporting mechanical installation activities where required
    • Complying with all site rules, permit systems, and HSE requirements
    • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality, and housekeeping.

    Mechanical Fitter - Qualifications:
    • Proven experience in an industrial mechanical fitting role (NAECI or similar environment preferred)
    • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    • Strong understanding of site safety and permit-to-work systems
