How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer – A Level Physics (0.6 FTE)

    About the Role

    We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-focused Lecturer in A Level Physics to join our successful Science department on a 0.6 FTE basis. The successful candidate will be passionate about Physics education and committed to delivering high-quality teaching that inspires students to achieve their full potential.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer or an ambitious early career teacher looking to contribute to a thriving sixth form environment with a strong academic ethos.

    Key Responsibilities
    Deliver engaging and effective A Level Physics lessons.
    Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with curriculum requirements.
    Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback and support.
    Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
    Maintain accurate student records and participate in departmental meetings.
    Support students’ academic achievement and personal development.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning. The Successful Candidate Will Have
    A relevant degree in Physics or a related subject.
    A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) with QTS or QTLS status.
    Experience teaching A Level Physics.
    Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
    The ability to motivate and engage young people.
    Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. Desirable
    Experience within a sixth form or further education setting.
    A track record of strong student outcomes.
