How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    ENGINEERING MANAGER

    Job Title: Engineering Manager

    Location: Salisbury

    Salary: £54,000 - £56,000

    Shift: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (with 24/7 leadership responsibility across days and nights)

    Job Role of the Engineering Manager

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager or Engineering Shift Lead to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market-leading bakery manufacturer with over 180 years of heritage, supplying major UK foodservice and retail customers.

    You will be responsible for leading and developing a multiskilled engineering team, driving reliability, improving asset performance, and ensuring engineering excellence across a fast-paced manufacturing site.

    Sector – Food Manufacturing / FMCG

    Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Manager

    · Proven experience leading or supervising engineering teams within manufacturing.

    · Strong hands-on engineering background within a fast-paced industrial environment.

    · NVQ Level 3 in Engineering minimum.

    Requirements for the Engineering Manager

    · Experience managing planned and reactive maintenance activities.

    · Strong understanding of PPM systems and engineering compliance.

    · Experience using CMMS systems.

    · Excellent communication and leadership skills.

    · Ability to analyse downtime data and drive continuous improvement.

    · Manufacturing background essential.

    Desirable Requirements for the Engineering Manager

    · HNC/HND in Engineering or Leadership.

    · Food manufacturing or FMCG experience.

    · Continuous improvement knowledge.

    · Experience with automation systems and small projects.
