How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a Graduate Civil Engineer looking to kick-start your career in Transport Planning and Highway Engineering, offering hands-on training, one-to-one mentorship, and clear progression within a specialist consultancy?

    Established over 25 years ago, this specialist transport consultancy delivers transport planning, highway design, and infrastructure solutions across major UK developments. Working with developers, contractors, and local authorities, they support large-scale freight, logistics, and infrastructure projects focused on improving connectivity and reducing congestion.

    In this role you will receive hands-on training from experienced Transport Planners and Civil Engineers, supporting the wider team across a range of transport, highways, and infrastructure projects. You will assist with transport assessments, junction modelling, highway and infrastructure design, attend site visits, and help prepare technical drawings and calculations using AutoCAD while developing your technical knowledge within a supportive environment.

    This role would suit a Graduate Civil Engineer looking to get into Transport Planning and Highway Engineering, who wants hands-on training, one-to-one mentorship, and exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects.

    The role:

    Supporting transport planning, highway design, and infrastructure projects
    Assisting with transport assessments, junction modelling, and AutoCAD drawings
    Reviewing site data, surveys, and transport information
    Attending site visits with project teams and stakeholders
    Working alongside senior engineers to develop technical skills and knowledgeThe Person:

    Degree in Civil or Transport Engineering
    Interest in transport planning, highways, and infrastructure design
    Basic experience using AutoCAD (or similar design software)
