How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As our Information Controller you will act as the "nerve centre" of a project, responsible for managing the flow, quality, and integrity of documentation and data. You will ensure all project data—including drawings and models, are is accurately recorded, securely stored, and readily accessible, adhering to ISO 19650.

    ROLE PURPOSE
    To maintain and control the project's Common Data Environment (CDE) and documentation workflow, ensuring that project teams (clients, contractors, and consultants) operate using the latest, verified information.

    INTERFACES
    Internal Interfacing: Production Managers, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Design Managers and Designers
    External Interfacing: Subcontractors, Client representatives, Consultants (Architects, Engineers).

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Information Management & Control
    • Document Control Duties: Register, receive, log, distribute, and archive all incoming/outgoing project drawings, reports, and submittals.
    • Version Control: Maintain up-to-date document registers to ensure the site team is working from the current revisions, preventing costly rework.
    • Data Accuracy & Validation: Check for compliance with project naming protocols (e.g., BS 1192/ISO 19650) before publication.
    • O&M Manuals & Handover: Assist in compiling Operating & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, Health & Safety files, and as-built drawings for final project handover.

    CDE (Common Data Environment) & Technology Administration
    • System Maintenance: Administer our CDE platform Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and also Share point, but also have knowledge of other CDE’s such as Viewpoint for Projects (4P), Dalux, Aconex, Procore, SharePoint).
    • Workflow Management: Manage automations and attribute mappings within the CDE to speed up approvals.
    • Training & Support: Act as the primary point of contact for support and training for internal teams and external consultants for the CDE.

    Compliance & Coordination
    • Compliance: Ensure all documentation adheres to contract requirements, building codes, and safety standards.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a communication link between design teams, site teams, and external subcontractors.
    • Reporting: Generate weekly reporting on documentation status, user activity, and outstanding workflows.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
    • Industry Experience: Proven experience in a Document Controller or Information Controller role within a construction contractor environment.
    • Technology Proficiency: Expertise in CDE platforms such as ACC, Viewpoint for Projects/4P, Dalux, or Aconex.
    • Standards Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 Building Information Modelling (BIM).
    • Software Skills: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word).

    KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in auditing and data management.
    • Organizational Skills: Ability to handle high-volume documentation and multiple projects concurrently.
    • Communication: Effective engagement with diverse stakeholders.
    • Analytical Thinking: Data-driven mindset with the ability to spot trends or risks in project information.

    TYPICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
    • This is a mainly office based role working 4 days in the office (Monday to Thursday) and working at from home on a Friday, finishing at 2.30pm.
    • May require occasional travel to construction site
