How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Office based, commutable from Taunton, Exeter, Honiton, Exmouth, Chard, Ilminster and Surrounding Areas

    Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for Automotive, Motorsport, Agriculture, Defence or similar looking to join a multinational business where you will be given the opportunity to showcase your skill set working on cutting edge engineering designs, where you will work on projects from cradle to grave with the ability to gain responsibility and step into senior positions in future?

    On offer is the opportunity to work on pioneering engineering designs within the automotive / defence sectors, taking the lead on projects working from concept to completion, all whilst having the opportunities to expand your skillset through technical training.

    This business has been leading the way in their industry for upwards of 4 decades, working multinationally to design and manufacture state of the art engineering products for their clients. Due to their continued expansion plans, they are looking to expand their design team with the view to continue providing excellent levels of technical brilliance to their client base.

    On offer is a Mechanical Design role, where you will be working within a close knit team to create innovative designs using 3D cad programs, working to create assembly designs for the automotive industry and working on projects from concept to completion with the view of continuing the innovation and quality that the brand is known for.

    The role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer with a practicable interest in automotive / motorsport looking to take the next step in their career and take the lead on projects whilst working for an industry leading business.

    The Role:
    *Design of Mechanical components and assemblies using CAD to the agreed requirements in the automotive sector.
    *Excellent training to massively increase your technical skillset
    *Working to innovate and improve upon designs with the view to continuously push the boundaries and competencies within the team and the business.

    The Person:
    *HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    *Competent with using CAD to create 2D and 3D drawings and designs
    *Looking for an opportunity to train and progress within a company
    *Interest in Automotive
    *Eligible for UK Security Clearance
