Location: Mobile role covering London & Bristol (Company van provided + fuel)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)

12-hour shiftsAbout the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Rail team. This is a mobile role supporting multiple sites across London and Bristol, working on advanced rail power systems and associated equipment.
Reporting to the Site Team Leader or Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering maintenance, fault finding, and repair activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical and contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative and corrective maintenance in line with schedules, manuals, and contractual requirements
Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs using technical drawings and specialist tools
Complete all maintenance documentation accurately for internal and client records
Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations
Attend customer meetings where required to sign off completed works
Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance (HSQE)
Ensure work areas and equipment are kept clean, safe, and organised
Participate in ongoing training to maintain and develop technical competency
Work flexibly within a 24/7 shift rota
Travel between sites as part of a mobile engineering role
Accurately report parts used to support stock control processes
Use company IT systems for reporting, communication, and diagnosticsRequirements
Background in mechanical or electrical engineering
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong commitment to health and safety standards
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
Basic IT skills (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook)
Full UK driving licencePreferred Skills
