How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Quantity Surveyor | Major Energy Infrastructure Project
    West London / Berkshire Border
    £50,000 - £62,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + Bonus + Package

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering a flagship energy project on the West London/Berkshire border.

    Working as part of an experienced site-based commercial team, you'll take responsibility for the end-to-end commercial management of complex civils, building structures and M&E packages on one of the UK's most significant live infrastructure programmes.

    This opportunity would suit either:

    A Quantity Surveyor ready to step up into a Senior QS position, or
    An existing Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking exposure to larger, more complex projects with a business offering genuine long-term career progression.
    In either case, the role will suit someone ambitious, commercially aware and keen to develop within the fast-growing energy infrastructure sector.

    Responsibilities

    Subcontract procurement and commercial management
    Cost reporting and forecasting
    Variations and change management
    Valuations and final accounts
    Supporting commercial strategy and risk management
    Administration of NEC contracts
    Working closely with delivery teams across civils, structures and M&E works
    Mentoring and supporting junior surveyors on the project
    Candidate Requirements

    Experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy, heavy civils or major building projects
    Good understanding of NEC contracts
    Experience managing subcontract packages
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred
