How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Sort, wash, dry and iron residents’ clothing, bedding and linen, following care labels and instructions.

Distribute clean laundry to residents’ rooms and linen cupboards, reporting unidentified items as needed.

Carry out basic mending and identify items requiring dry cleaning.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness within the laundry area and ensure equipment is clean and well maintained.

Follow COSHH, manual handling, health & safety and infection prevention requirements at all times.

Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and choice.

Attend training, supervision, appraisals and staff meetings as required.

    About you

We are looking for someone who is dependable, organised and takes pride in their work.

    You will bring:

Previous experience of laundry work (desirable).

    Good communication and listening skills.

The ability to follow instructions and prioritise tasks effectively.

A positive, flexible approach to work.

Sensitivity to the needs of older people and a commitment to quality service.

Willingness to undertake training and development.

A QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

    Why join MHA?

Flexible options to buy or sell annual leave, plus family-friendly policies
