Job Overview
We are currently recruiting 2 experienced Gardeners to support Belfast City Council's Parks and Cemeteries Operational Services team. You will help maintain parks, playing fields, landscaped areas, and open spaces across the city.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role involving a wide range of horticultural and grounds maintenance duties.
Key Duties
Grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, and turf care
Sweeping, raking, litter picking, and general site maintenance
Soil preparation, planting, and seasonal horticultural work
Use of powered hand tools and light plant equipment
Sports pitch maintenance (spiking, scarifying, marking out, etc.)
Loading and moving equipment, plants, soil, and materials
Basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and machinery
Working safely in line with Health & Safety procedures
What We're Looking For
NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture (or equivalent)
PA1 & PA6 pesticide application certificates
At least 1 year's relevant horticulture/grounds maintenance experience
Experience dealing with the public in a face-to-face environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
