How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SHEQ Manager – Water Infrastructure (Yorkshire)

    Our client are looking for an experienced SHEQ manager to join their fast-growing infrastructure business delivering some of the UK’s most critical utility and community projects. With major investment across water, energy, telecoms, and regeneration programmes, this is an opportunity to shape safety, quality, sustainability, and operational excellence on high-profile infrastructure schemes that make a real impact.

    This organisation is known for delivering innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges while creating safer, more sustainable communities across the UK.

    The Opportunity

    An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced SHEQ professional to oversee Water Infrastructure projects across the Yorkshire region. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in driving performance, leading cultural change, and embedding best-in-class SHEQ standards across a growing regional operation.

    You’ll lead and develop a high-performing team while influencing strategy, operational delivery, and continuous improvement across major infrastructure projects.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    * Leading, mentoring, and developing the regional SHEQ team

    * Driving a proactive, high-performance safety and quality culture

    * Developing and implementing SHEQ strategy aligned with operational goals

    * Managing and improving ISO management systems (9001, 14001 & 45001)

    * Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions

    * Ensuring compliance with UK SHEQ legislation and industry standards

    * Supporting internal and external audits while maintaining certifications

    * Delivering engaging SHEQ training and promoting workforce engagement

    * Analysing performance trends and presenting insights to senior stakeholders

    * Supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives across projects

    What We’re Looking For

    * Strong SHEQ leadership experience within utilities, infrastructure, construction, or engineering

    * Experience working on water or regulated infrastructure projects

    * NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)

    * Chartered IOSH status (CMIOSH)

    * Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001

    * Strong understanding of UK health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation

    * A confident communicator who can influence at all levels and drive continuous improvement

    Why Apply?

    * Opportunity to influence major infrastructure projects with long-term investment

    * Clear career progression within a rapidly expanding business

    * Supportive leadership team with a strong people-first culture

    * Competitive salary and benefits package

    * Immediate interview process for suitable candidates

    If you're a passionate SHEQ leader looking to take ownership of a high-impact regional role within a growing infrastructure business, this could be the perfect next step
